Meet Gayle & Heather
GAYLE LOCKWOOD, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, has called Orem, Utah home for the past 36 years. She recently retired from her position of Teaching Professor of Music at Brigham Young University (BYU) where she taught voice in the Music Dance Theatre (MDT) program. Her specialization was in both traditional musical theater and contemporary vocal techniques. Gayle holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Secondary Music Education from BYU and a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Utah where she studied under master teacher and author of “Singing with Mind Body and Soul,” Betty Jeanne Chipman. In addition to teaching private voice and voice classes for the BYU MDT program, Gayle served as musical director for numerous productions including: Phantom of the Opera, She Loves Me, Secret Garden, Little Women and the American premier of Frank Wildhorn’s The Count of Monte Cristo. She has been a guest lecturer and clinician for many groups including local and regional chapters of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Grammy Award winning vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth, the New York Singing Teachers Association (NYSTA), and the Music Theater Educators Alliance (MTEA). Her students have performed in over 50 Broadway and Broadway touring companies. Gayle and her husband, John, have two daughters and six beautiful grandchildren (well, one of them is handsome!)
Heather Woodman has always had a passion for light. And it is that light she strives to bring out in everyone. She started with a passion for performing and sharing that light on stages all over the world. She started teaching voice over 25 years ago as a grad student at BYU. She continued teaching, directing and performing shows in schools, community theater and church productions. Heather focused on raising her 3 children with light and love. While living in Ashburn, Virginia she co-founded a theatre company called Loudoun Centre Theatre which is still active today. She has directed productions such as Savior of the World, Guys and Dolls, Music Man, See How They Run, and many more. Since 2015 her focus has changed and she has added an exciting and life changing component to her practice. As a SimplyHealed practitioner, Life Transformation Coach and Manifestation Facilitator she uses all skills and tools for her clients to Embrace Healing and Empower Authentic Living for themselves.
